Testing an InVision Prototype for Ping

Maze began inside their previous startup, a messaging app for gamers called Ping. They had no product yet, only "this very in-depth InVision prototype," Widawski told Seedcamp, and thousands of people on the waiting list. Rather than interview them all, they downloaded the prototype and put analytics on top of it.

Sending the First Test to 2,000 People

They pushed that first version to 2,000 people and got thousands of responses an hour later. "I come from a world where five responses in five weeks was basically opening champagne," he said. That test became the starting point for Maze.
