Ismail Pelaseyed is the CTO and co-founder of Superagent, which he runs with Alan Zabihi, according to its Y Combinator page. The company is part of YC's W24 batch and builds open-source defense for AI agents.

Building KeyCrunch With Alan Zabihi

According to Replit, Pelaseyed and Zabihi built KeyCrunch, now Hyperdrive, years before Superagent. It automatically wrote marketing copy. They expanded it into a tool that generated ad materials with AI agents, and it was eventually acquired by Jetshop. The partners then ran a consulting firm for many years before returning to their own projects.

Making Agents Useful Beyond Demos

Superagent began as an open-source framework for developers to build AI agents. "Our goal is to develop agents that are not only demo-worthy but also practical and useful for business purposes," Pelaseyed told E2B in 2023.
