Relevance AI
Daniel Vassilev is co-founder and co-CEO of Relevance AI, a platform for building teams of AI agents. He runs it alongside co-CEO Jacky Koh and co-founder Daniel Palmer.
Building Viral Apps as a Student
Vassilev was exposed to technology through his father, who worked in IT, according to January Capital's The First podcast. While still in school he automated repetitive tasks in video games, then built apps. A background music app reached a million users in nine months, and an app tied to Pokémon Go grew to six million users. For a while he still saw building products as a hobby, not a career.
Going Full Time After a Startup Accelerator
That changed when he joined an accelerator in Sydney, Australia. He and Koh, a friend from high school, had worked on several projects together, with Vassilev handling product and engineering and Koh handling AI and machine learning. Their first idea was to use machine learning to automate business processes. Relevance AI pivoted several times before it settled on agents.
In June 2025 Bessemer Venture Partners led Relevance AI's $24 million Series B.
