Co-founder and CEO
Niteshift
Sajid Mehmood and Conor Branagan met at Datadog, according to Greylock. Branagan was the number one committer in Datadog's codebase, and Mehmood led engineering teams that launched more than a dozen products. Mehmood is now co-founder and CEO of Niteshift, a cloud for AI coding agents.
Lessons from Datadog
Mehmood compares Niteshift's pitch to Datadog's early growth, when the monitoring company won e-commerce customers who refused to build on Amazon Web Services. "We are absolutely going to see the same dynamic as Anthropic goes to compete in legal and healthcare and finance and whatever else," he told TechCrunch.
Niteshift raised a $7 million seed round led by Greylock's Jerry Chen. Its angels include Reid Hoffman, Datadog's Olivier Pomel and Alexis Lê-Quôc, Ankur Goyal of Braintrust and Misha Laskin of Reflection AI.
Routing Across Coding Agents
Niteshift's cloud routes between Claude Code, Codex and open source models based on each project's needs. It charges like a cloud provider, with per-minute usage rates. "We're selling software to agents, as opposed to humans," Mehmood told TechCrunch.
