Niv Braun is co-founder and CEO of Noma Security, a company that finds and blocks security risks in AI applications and agents. He was a security manager in Unit 8200, the elite cyber unit of the Israeli Defense Forces, according to SC Media.
Security for Data Science Teams
Braun’s founding argument is that data engineering and machine learning teams work apart from software developers, so the application security tools a company already owns never see their notebooks, data pipelines, or downloaded open-source models. In a Help Net Security interview he said application security teams “have no visibility into their work” even though they are expected to secure it. “The first step to implementing governance controls and securing the new AI attack surface is visibility,” he said.
Braun has warned that confidential data used to train or fine-tune a model can be pulled back out through prompt injection or jailbreaks, and that runtime monitoring has to watch both prompts and responses.
