Kartik Chandrayana
CEO
Empirik
"I spent years at Salesforce running more than 30 infrastructure products, living the same tradeoff every day," Kartik Chandrayana wrote in Empirik's launch post: "move fast and take on risk, or slow down to protect reliability and stall the business." He is now CEO of Empirik, which builds an AI agent for infrastructure change.
Twin Prime's Sale to Salesforce
Chandrayana founded Twin Prime, which Salesforce acquired in 2016, according to Empirik's about page. He then spent five years as Salesforce's VP of Product for Observability and Big Data, and most recently was CPO at Quantum Metric, according to Sequoia.
Spinning Empirik Out of Sequoia
Avon Puri and Sudheer Dhurjati built the first version of Empirik inside Sequoia. After the same evaluation any Sequoia investment goes through, the company spun out as an independent company with Chandrayana as CEO.
Empirik came out of stealth in September 2026 with $21 million in funding from Sequoia Capital, S32, Canapi Ventures and Alumni Ventures, according to the press release. "AI coding agents are shipping software at machine speed, but infrastructure is still managed by hand," Chandrayana said.
