Joining Uber During Its Hypergrowth

Joining Uber was his dream job. At his first onboarding, Uber's CTO at the time told new hires the company was doubling every six months. Uber built most of its infrastructure in-house, and as services sprawled, onboarding engineers and enforcing best practices got harder.

Tracking Uber's Services in Spreadsheets

Teams tracked that information in spreadsheets "which would immediately go out of date when you needed it," Dhar said. "I think that's really what led me and Ganesh ultimately to start something like Cortex."
