Vipul Ved Prakash

Vipul Ved Prakash is co-founder and CEO of Together AI, which offers GPU computing and open-source AI models. Two earlier companies he founded, Cloudmark and Topsy, were acquired.

Fighting Spam in 1999

In 1999, Prakash was among the first wave of internet users in India, according to Forbes India. Spam led him to build an open-source system that let people flag spam so it could be blocked for others, and within a year more than 10 million computers were running what became known as Vipul's Razor. In 2001 he co-founded Cloudmark with Jordan Ritter to commercialize it, and Proofpoint acquired Cloudmark in 2017.

Topsy Joins Apple in 2014

In 2007 he launched Topsy, a social media search and analytics company that Apple acquired in 2014; he stayed on as a senior director until 2018. At Apple he worked on machine learning systems that used differential privacy and on Siri's open-domain question answering, he told TheSequence.
