Which one fits
Both are sold to companies, so the choice comes down to whether you want a connected spreadsheet or a full BI platform.
Choose Equals if
- Your finance or revenue team wants a spreadsheet that stays connected to live CRM, billing and warehouse data.
- You want help setting it up. Every plan includes a forward-deployed analyst who builds your first reports.
- You want the whole company on it. Every plan has unlimited seats.
Choose Omni if
- You need company-wide BI with one set of metric definitions, which Omni keeps in a shared semantic layer.
- Your analysts want SQL and your business users want point-and-click and spreadsheets, on the same governed data.
- You want to put analytics inside your own product. Omni supports embedding with SSO, APIs and an MCP server.
What buyers say
“Equals is better when the artifact has to stay a spreadsheet with SQL into the warehouse. Omni is better when you want Looker-style governed models and workbooks instead of cells.”

“If the question is “can this replace Power Query in a grid,” that’s Equals territory. If the question is self-serve BI with a semantic layer, you’re shopping Omni-class tools.”

“My finance team wants to stay in a spreadsheet, so Equals fit. Omni is the stronger answer for company-wide BI with shared metric definitions, but our analysts would have to own that layer.”

Verdict
Pick Equals (8.0 out of 10, Recommend) if your finance or revenue team wants to keep working in a spreadsheet that stays connected to live data. Pick Omni (7.8 out of 10, Recommend) if you need company-wide BI with shared metric definitions, where analysts write SQL and business users point and click on the same data, or if you want to embed analytics in your own product.
Methodology
We read the Equals and Omni pricing pages and product sites on October 16, 2026 and recorded every published price, limit and plan feature. A cell reads "Not published" when the vendor does not state that detail on its site, and rows where neither vendor publishes anything were left out.
