Which one fits
Both sell per seat, so the choice comes down to whether you want sales analytics or shareable call clips.
Choose Avoma if
- You run a sales or customer team and want call scoring, deal risk and forecasting on top of meeting notes. Avoma sells them as add-ons at $29 per seat per month each.
- Most of your team only reads the notes. Avoma charges for people who record, and viewers and collaborators are free.
- You need scheduling in the same tool. Every plan includes a 1:1 scheduler, and Organization adds group and round-robin booking.
Choose Grain if
- You want to clip and share moments from customer calls. Grain builds clips and highlight reels into every plan, including Free.
- You coach a sales team. Business adds AI coaching, trackers and team interaction metrics, plus HubSpot and Salesforce sync.
- You want monthly billing without an annual contract. Grain says none of its plans require one.
What buyers say
“Grain is better for clipping moments and sharing highlights with the team. Avoma is better when you want the coaching layer, talk ratios, templates, deal risk, on top of the recording.”

“We stuck with Grain because the team already lived in the clips. I’d only push Avoma if managers start asking for methodology scoring instead of just shareable snippets.”

“Avoma works for us because only the reps who record are billed, and everyone else reads the notes for free. Grain's clips are great for sharing customer moments, but we needed forecasting more than highlight reels.”
